Nearly two months ago I posted a preview from Charlotte & Josh’s Botley Hill Wedding and I can now finally share more from their day!
Charlotte and her Bridemaids got ready at the impressive Nutfield Priory where the day started strong with the rings being lost (left behind in the best mans hotel room) therefore ‘forcing’ Josh’s mum to keep them safely stored in her bra haha. Josh surprised Charlotte with a letter and a stunning pair of earrings cut from the same stone as her engagement ring and then to top it off had a gorgeous Triumph Renown from Oxted Classics Cars collect her and transport her and her Father to the Church.
As Charlotte & Josh exited the church through confetti they were met by a lucky chimney sweep which Josh’s mum had arranged. Lucky chimney sweeps are a wedding tradition rarely seen nowadays but this guy went even further by training a black cat to sit on his shoulder!
After the ceremony everyone made their way to brand new barn at Botley Hill. Charlotte & Josh booked this venue before it was even built and have witnessed all the hard work that has gone into creating this contemporary venue with some of the most amazing views in Surrey.
At the reception the sun shone down as their guests enjoyed some of the most incredibly presented canapés I have ever seen. As everyone enjoyed themselves I took Charlotte & Josh into the smaller Oakley Barn which will soon be used for ceremonies by the venue but for now was a great backdrop for photographs whilst the sun was still too high in the sky.
As Charlotte is Swedish the reception took on some fun traditions with all guests having to rise to kiss either the Bride or Groom whenever either of them left the top table. Throughout the meal friends and family made speeches and toasts which brought tears and laughter in equal measure. Then to top off the reception Charlotte’s best woman Frida even took the mike to reinvent the Ed Sheran classic ‘Galway girl’ to the new lyrics…yes you’ve guessed it…’Swedish girl’
Finally the night was rounded off with music from The Sweet Lowdown where Charlotte, Josh and their guests danced into the late evening. Thanks again for inviting me along to capture your day guys.
